Semiconductor Manufacturer Onsemi to Reduce Workforce at Czech Plant

US semiconductor firm Onsemi is reportedly planning to eliminate 200 to 300 positions at its facility in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czech Republic. These job cuts primarily affect specialists in silicon carbide semiconductors, as the company moves towards sourcing cheaper wafers externally. This marks a second round of layoffs at the plant, following approximately 170 reductions in 2025.
