Sanofi Names New Global Head of Pharmaceutical R&D

Sanofi has announced the appointment of Dr. Paulo Fontoura as its new Executive Vice President and Global Head of Research & Development Pharma. Effective September 1, 2026, Dr. Fontoura will join the company's Executive Committee and oversee Sanofi's innovation efforts. He will be responsible for leading research, clinical development, and regulatory affairs, succeeding Dr. Houman Ashrafian in this key role.
