Thomson Reuters to cut up to 500 engineering jobs globally as it deploys AI

Thomson Reuters announced it is cutting a 'small number of roles' in its engineering division, affecting up to 500 jobs globally, which represents about 1.8% of its total workforce. The move comes as the company focuses on aggressively deploying artificial intelligence across its businesses. Despite the cuts, Thomson Reuters plans to hire over 250 net-new engineering roles, primarily senior and AI-native, over the next two years.
