Companies across the freight economy, including Amazon, Temco Logistics, and Freight Handlers Inc., have disclosed plans to eliminate at least 1,222 jobs. These workforce reductions are attributed to facility consolidations, adjustments to networks, and the loss of contracts. Additionally, 10 transportation, distribution, and freight-dependent businesses have sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
