Shell more than doubles its profit in Q2, beating expectations
Shell reported adjusted earnings of $9.84 billion in the second quarter of 2026, more than double its profit from the same period last year and exceeding analyst expectations of $8.92 billion. The strong performance was attributed to higher oil and gas prices, robust LNG and oil trading, and improved chemicals margins. Shell also announced it would maintain its $3 billion share buyback program over the next three months.
