Shionogi Receives Australian Marketing Authorization for Antibiotic Cefiderocol

Shionogi & Co., Ltd. announced that Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has granted marketing authorization for cefiderocol. This siderophore cephalosporin is approved for treating complicated urinary tract infections and hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative organisms in adults with limited treatment options.
