TotalEnergies finalizes $800 million sale of Nigerian oil stake to Vaaris

TotalEnergies has completed the sale of its 10% non-operated oil interest in Nigeria's Renaissance Joint Venture licenses to Vaaris for $800 million. This transaction, initially announced in January 2026, allows the French energy firm to strategically divest from oil assets in the region. TotalEnergies will, however, retain its full economic interest in three gas licenses within the JV, which supply 50% of Nigeria LNG's gas.
