Fujitsu, SoftBank Robotics, and Japanese Councils Launch AI Pilot to Standardize Packaging Damage Assessment and Reduce Product Returns

The Home Appliance Supply Chain Council, the Distribution Economics Institute of Japan, Fujitsu Limited, and SoftBank Robotics Corp. have commenced a joint pilot project on November 2, 2026. This initiative aims to standardize criteria for assessing packaging damage in the home appliance industry and utilize AI to reduce unnecessary product returns during delivery, thereby improving logistics efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
