Former Mount Vernon Police Official Charged with Attempted Murder in Bronx Shooting

A former Mount Vernon police official, Jennifer Lackard, and her 20-year-old son have been arrested and charged with attempted murder and other offenses in connection with a shooting in the Bronx. The incident, which occurred on June 29, involved a gunman opening fire at a crowd outside a courthouse, though no one was hit. Lackard has been terminated from the police department.
