Asheville Police Report Officer-Involved Shooting, Suspect Deceased

The Asheville Police Department responded to an active shooter situation at 60 Court Plaza in downtown Asheville. The suspect, identified as Shane Tilman Kent, 29, fired shots at a law enforcement officer from inside a Chevrolet SUV and was subsequently found deceased. Four victims sustained gunshot wounds, with one remaining in critical condition. The incident is currently under active investigation.
