The Singapore Police Force has issued a public warning regarding a rise in cyber extortion scams involving intimate images and sexually explicit video calls. Since August 2026, at least 52 reports have been made, with victims losing over $134,000. Scammers typically approach victims on dating apps or social media, then threaten to release explicit content unless payment is made.
