Escaped Inmate Apprehended in Virginia After Walking Away from Los Angeles Reentry Program

DeJohn W. Snell, an incarcerated person who walked away from a Male Community Reentry Program in Los Angeles County on August 16, 2026, was apprehended on September 9, 2026, at approximately 11:15 a.m. EDT in Virginia. Snell was booked into the Peninsula Regional Jail on an escape warrant and will be returned to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation custody.
