Chicago Schools and Teachers Union Agree on May Day Engagement Plan

The Chicago Teachers Union and Chicago Public Schools have reached a compromise regarding May 1 activities. While classes will proceed as scheduled, the agreement designates the day for civic engagement, with no disciplinary action for participants. The school district will also facilitate student attendance at a rally by providing transportation and meals for numerous schools.
