U.S. Education Department Finalizes Student Loan Program Reforms

Set to take effect in July 2026, the changes include eliminating the Grad PLUS program, introducing borrowing limits for graduate students, and simplifying repayment options to two main plans. This initiative, which also allows institutions to establish their own loan caps, seeks to reduce overall college expenses and streamline the repayment process for borrowers.
