Federal Pell Grant Eligibility to Shift, Expanding to Workforce Programs

New federal student aid reforms, effective July 1, 2026, will broaden Pell Grant access to include short-term workforce training programs. Concurrently, eligibility criteria are being revised, potentially excluding students with significant assets or those fully covered by non-federal grants. These changes, stemming from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, aim to better prepare individuals for in-demand jobs while managing student debt.
