Michigan Governor Forms Council to Boost Childhood Literacy

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed an executive order to create the Every Child Reads Champions Council in Michigan. This new body will bring together leaders from various sectors to oversee and advise on literacy initiatives across the state. The council's goal is to ensure all students have access to resources for developing strong reading and writing skills, aligning with the Michigan Department of Education's top priority for improving literacy.
