U.S. Department of Education Warns Jefferson County Public Schools Over Title IX Non-Compliance

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has issued a warning letter to Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado for its continued refusal to comply with Title IX. The OCR found the district violated Title IX by allowing male students to participate in female sports, use female bathrooms and locker rooms, and share overnight accommodations based on "gender identity." The district faces a Letter of Impending Enforcement Action in 10 days if it does not comply, which could lead to termination of federal education funding.
