ABA Council Moves to Eliminate Law School DEI Accreditation Standard

The American Bar Association's Council for Legal Education has voted to repeal a standard requiring law schools to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This standard previously supported recruitment and financial aid initiatives for diversity. The decision, made in May, awaits review by the ABA's House of Delegates and could lead to the rule's full removal by 2027.
