Congressional Democrats Advocate for Student Debt Relief and Policy Reversal

A group of over 60 Democratic lawmakers has called on the Education Secretary to implement student debt cancellation for qualifying individuals. They also requested a halt to the proposed transfer of defaulted student loan accounts to the Treasury Department. This appeal precedes significant changes to student loan policies set for July 2026.
