Federal Student Loan Repayment Program to End, Impacting Borrowers

The Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) student loan repayment plan, previously established, is slated for termination following new legislation. This change will require hundreds of thousands of borrowers, including many in North Carolina, to select an alternative repayment option. Only two other plans will remain available once SAVE and similar income-driven programs are phased out.
