Nantucket Teachers Reach Agreement on New Contract with School Administration

Teachers in Nantucket have reached an agreement on a new contract with the school administration, which is expected to be ratified by the School Committee on Tuesday. The deal includes salary increases of 3.5% this year, 3.75% next year (with a 4.75% bump for most-tenured teachers), and 4% in the third year. Other changes include increased curriculum development rates, longevity bonuses, stipends for further education, and the creation of a labor management committee to study enrollment and class size.
