Columbia University Reintroduces Standardized Test Requirement for Admissions

Columbia University has announced it will require SAT or ACT scores for undergraduate admissions starting with the 2027-2028 cycle. This decision makes it the final Ivy League institution to move away from test-optional policies. Other elite universities, including Yale and MIT, have also reinstated testing, citing scores as strong indicators of academic potential and a tool for enhancing diversity.
