Michigan Program Improves College Access for Low-Income Students

A new study from the University of Michigan's Education Policy Initiative indicates that the state's Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) is successfully increasing college enrollment among students with financial need. The program, managed by MiLEAP, provides need-based financial aid to cover tuition and fees for postsecondary credentials. Researchers found that TIP also helps to reduce existing disparities in higher education access.
