Treasury Department Details New Federal Education Tax Credit for 2027

The U.S. Treasury Department has outlined plans for the Education Freedom Tax Credit, set to begin in January 2027. This new federal program, part of the Working Families Tax Cut Act, will provide up to a $1,700 tax credit for donations to scholarship organizations. States will have the option to participate in this initiative.
