Richmond Teachers' Union Reaches Impasse in Salary Negotiations

The Richmond Education Association (REA) has declared an impasse in its collective bargaining discussions with Richmond Public Schools (RPS), primarily due to disagreements over teacher salary increases. The union argues that RPS's proposed 2% annual raises for the next three years are insufficient to keep pace with rising inflation and living costs.
