Federal Education Department Initiates Title IX Investigations in Maryland

On the 54th anniversary of Title IX, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights has launched investigations into the Maryland State Department of Education and three county school districts. These inquiries focus on alleged Title IX violations concerning policies that reportedly permit boys to participate in girls' sports and use female-only facilities. The investigations will examine compliance with federal civil rights laws.
