Federal Student Aid Releases Latest Financial Data Reports

Federal Student Aid (FSA) has updated its data center with over 70 quarterly reports, covering application, disbursement, and loan portfolio information through March 31, 2026. The data reveals a total outstanding federal student loan portfolio of $1.7 trillion across 42.6 million recipients, a nearly four percent increase from the previous year. Additionally, the number of borrowers in default has risen to nine million, with $220 billion in outstanding federal student loans.
