Texas State Board of Education Gives Preliminary Approval to Social Studies Curriculum Overhaul

The Texas State Board of Education has granted preliminary approval to a revised social studies curriculum that de-emphasizes world history outside of European tradition, focuses more on Texas and U.S. history, and includes Christian stories in a mandatory reading list for public schools. Final votes are expected today.
