US Education Department Implements New Postsecondary Accountability Framework
The U.S. Department of Education has finalized a new regulation, the Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability framework. This policy requires undergraduate and graduate programs to demonstrate that their graduates achieve a specified earnings premium compared to high school or bachelor's degree holders. Programs failing to meet this standard in two out of three consecutive years risk losing eligibility for federal Direct Loan programs.
