US Education Department Establishes New Accountability Rules for Higher Education

The U.S. Department of Education has finalized a new framework, the Student Tuition and Transparency System (STATS) and Earnings Accountability, aimed at increasing oversight of postsecondary institutions. This rule links federal aid to graduate earnings and institutional transparency. While some aspects begin in August, full implementation is set for July 2027, allowing institutions time to adapt.
