Arkansas Granted Broad Education Flexibilities by Federal Department

The U.S. Department of Education has approved Arkansas's "Returning Education to the States Waiver," alongside an ESEA state plan amendment and Ed-Flex authority. This comprehensive approval, a first of its kind, allows Arkansas to streamline federal compliance and consolidate over $8.8 million in federal funding over four years. The state is now the fifth to receive this waiver and the 21st to gain Ed-Flex authority, enabling it to waive certain federal requirements for local education agencies.
