Federal Initiative Targets Student Protection from Sexual Misconduct in K-12 Schools

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights has initiated a nationwide program to combat sexual predators within K-12 educational settings. This effort includes providing guidance to federally funded institutions on their legal duties to protect children and address sexual misconduct. Additionally, 20 investigations have been launched into school districts identified through data as potentially having issues with staff-on-student sexual misconduct.
