U.S. Department of Education Warns School Districts Against Hiding Student Information from Parents

The U.S. Department of Education announced it will take immediate federal action against school districts that violate the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) by concealing information about students from their parents. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon stated that FERPA is not optional and districts failing to comply will face enforcement proceedings.
