Milken's accreditor withdraws from federal recognition, citing rising politicization of the process

The Board of Councilors for the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), Milken's accreditor, withdrew from federal recognition on July 6, 2026, stating that federal recognition no longer provided "meaningful" benefits. Two other specialized accreditors, the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council and the Council on Chiropractic Education, also opted out. This move follows the Education Department's Accreditation, Innovation and Modernization Committee's announcement of a new regulatory framework in May, aimed at reforming the higher education accreditation system.
