Glenwood Elementary School to Close, Students' Relocation Plans Under Discussion

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education has voted to permanently close Glenwood Elementary School, effective for the 2027-28 school year. Discussions are ongoing regarding the relocation of approximately 400 students to either Mary Scroggs Elementary School or Rashkis Elementary School, with families awaiting a decision on whether students will remain together or be split between the two schools. The board is expected to decide on student and program relocation by August 20.
