ACPS Teacher Reassignments Cause Confusion Ahead of Preplanning Week

Alachua County Public Schools issued nonrenewals and reassignments to nearly 20 teachers less than a week before they return to classrooms, with eight of those changes later revoked. This action follows a state law prohibiting underperforming schools from having a high concentration of inexperienced teachers and offering salary incentives for effective teachers to move to these schools.
