VA Chapter 35 Education Benefits Discontinued for High School Programs

Effective August 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chapter 35 (Dependents' Educational Assistance - DEA) program will no longer cover high-school-level or other secondary education programs. This policy change means that programs starting on or after this date will not receive Chapter 35 benefits for high school coursework, GED-level training, tutoring, or remediation. However, qualifying secondary-school terms that began before August 1, 2026, may continue through the end of that term.
