Senators Advance Legislation to Block Department of Education Office Transfers

Republican U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, along with bipartisan co-sponsors, have advanced legislation (S. 5046) through the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee. The bill aims to prevent the Department of Education from transferring critical offices and programs, such as Special Education and Rehabilitation Services, Postsecondary Education, Elementary and Secondary Education, and Indian Education, to other federal agencies.
