New York City Public Schools Implement New Policies for Students with School Avoidance

New York City's Education Department is changing its response to students chronically absent due to school avoidance, following a legal agreement. The new systemwide guidance mandates a school avoidance liaison in every school across the five boroughs and uniform training to support absent students with social or emotional disabilities.
