U.S. Education Secretary Issues National Call to Action for University Reforms

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon has issued a national call to action, urging university presidents and governing boards to reaffirm commitments to academic excellence, research, and national service. The Secretary called on postsecondary institutions to publish public statements by the end of 2026 outlining reforms to restore public trust in higher education, addressing areas such as admissions transparency, free speech, intellectual pluralism, affordability, academic rigor, and research security.
