Ohio Sees Slow Rollout of Expanded Federal Workforce Pell Grant Program

A month after the official launch of the expanded federal Workforce Pell Grant program this summer, Ohio has yet to approve any programs for residents to enroll in. As of mid-July, only a handful of higher education institutions had submitted nine programs to the state, with many marked as incomplete or rejected due to strict eligibility requirements and a tight implementation timeframe. This slow rollout is not unique to Ohio, with similar challenges reported in other states.
