Manatee County Commissioners Approve $2.6 Million Refund to School District for Tax Collection Fees

Manatee County commissioners have unanimously voted to refund $2.6 million in fees to the School District of Manatee County. These fees were charged to the school board for the collection of an optional, voter-approved 1-mill school tax in 2024 and 2025. The funds are designated for teacher retention, safety and security, early learning, STEM, arts, and athletics.
