U.S. Department of Education Calls on Universities for Reforms by Year-End 2026

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon has issued a letter urging universities to publicly commit to reforms in areas such as free speech, affordability, foreign influence in research, artificial intelligence, and merit in admissions by the end of 2026. This initiative follows a previous, stricter compact that was largely rejected by universities.
