Texas Governor Announces $5.6 Million in Grants for Innovative Nursing Education Programs

Governor Greg Abbott has announced over $5.6 million in grants to eight Texas colleges and universities through the Nursing Innovation Grant Program (NIGP). These grants aim to support new and expanded projects that enhance nursing programs, fund innovative pre-licensure educational initiatives, and increase the healthcare workforce capacity across the state. The funding period for the 2026 recipients begins September 1, 2026, and concludes August 31, 2028.
