New Philippine Law Allows Education Department Teaching Method Flexibility

The Philippines has enacted Republic Act 12322, removing the "spiral progression" reference from the K to 12 basic education program. Education Secretary Sonny Angara welcomed the law, which empowers Science and Mathematics teachers to adopt mastery-based learning or other alternative methods. This legislative change aims to enhance learner outcomes and address existing educational gaps by providing greater pedagogical autonomy.
