Nearly 450,000 US Student Loan Borrowers Set for $23 Billion Debt Relief

A federal appeals court decision has rejected a delay request, leading to federal debt forgiveness for approximately 200,000 additional student loan borrowers. This brings the total number of borrowers receiving relief under a $23 billion class-action settlement with the U.S. Department of Education to about 450,000. Eligible borrowers may also receive refunds for previous payments made.
