The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is awaiting a decision from the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education regarding the accreditation of its proposed in-state veterinary school. A favorable decision would allow UMES to begin accepting applications for its Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, with plans for an inaugural summer 2027 class of 100 students.
