California School Districts Grant Teacher Unions Veto Power Over AI Use in Work Reorganization
California's largest school districts, including San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), have reportedly granted teacher unions veto power over the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to reorganize work or reduce staffing. LAUSD adopted similar language in June 2026.
