HHS proposes Head Start program reforms to expand access and reduce costs

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed significant changes to Head Start programs, including removing federal regulations for class ratios, sizes, curricula, and staffing. These reforms are projected to create 236,000 new slots for children and save an estimated $2.2 billion, aiming to expand access to early childhood education.
