HHS Proposes Major Reforms to Head Start Programs, Aiming to Add Slots and Save Billions

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has proposed new rules for Head Start programs that would remove federal regulations for class ratios, sizes, curricula expectations, and certain staffing mandates. These reforms are projected to add 236,000 Head Start slots for children and save $2.2 billion.
